Hey I just put my first set of new tires on my 2006. My mileage dropped 5 miles per gallon. The tire guys are oblivious to what it could be. Can anyone help?

Some things that smarter people than I will want to know:

    - What kind of tires did you put on?
    - What size are they?
    - To what pressure are they inflated?

I'm sure there's more, but I'll let the smarter people jump in.

I got new tires for my 2004 and took a mileage hit. Basically, back when you bought the car, there was a lot of settling in before you started seeing some really impressive mileage. One of the things was that braking in of the tires. Once your new tires are broken in you'll see the mileage return.

Of course, some tires provide better mileage than others, so Proco's questions are valid.
