And increase of over 100% since May.
    - May 10,915
    - Jun 22,292

Insight-2 has fallen to 4th with 8,782 units sold
Looks like Honda's "Prius fighter" doesn't stand a chance in the near future.

I am sorry that the Insight has dropped numbers. I was hoping that by having another good hybrid around, there would be even more take-up and thus more people experiencing the benefit of hybrids. What this drop may mean is that some of the poor reviews of the Insight are reflecting the true situation. :(

Ok, I've managed to find them on reuters.com and yahoo.com.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post them.

Thank you but I'm confused by "6月" that shows:

I suspect "プリウス" may be the Prius and "トヨタ" may be Toyota. I'm using a katakana chart and I think phoneticly the Prius sounds like:
    fu ri u su
I could be wrong, just going by the numbers.

    Thanks,
    Bob Wilson

Hang on a minute, Insight is the 4th best selling car in Japan, I wouldn't exactly classify that as a fail. How many car on the Japanese market sell in smaller numbers that the Insight?
I don't see Honda dropping their nearly 9,000 units a month Insight any time soon. I suspect it is currently Honda's second best selling model.

Wow, Prius sold more than Insight and Fit combined! Previous months #1 seller.

For word by word translation of foreign languages you can use google! It´s much better than nothing.

Go to google and click on "Language Tools".
You can translate simple text or even a complete URL with "translate web page" (put here your link, select Japanese->English and click on translate).

Even the embedded links of the site are working.

The cool thing about it being the best selling car in Japan is that Japanese people living here are rushing in to order their Prius. :)

Some of the replies seem to be missing the point that this list is an expanded list, that includes all vehicles sold in Japan, including certain 600cc mini vehicles that were not part of the earlier list.
