Hi! It's about time I posted. I just noticed it was my
first post moments ago, and thought, "uh-oh."

    So here I am.

Until last October, I drove my wife's 2004 Camry Solara
and she drove my 2006 Mercury Mariner Hybrid. We
switched our primary vehicles because she drives a lot
around town as a Realtor, and I drove about 15 miles
of mixed driving each way daily for my work commute.
I could get better mileage in the Solara than she would
for her many short trips around town.

Enter the 2010 Prius Three. That's now "hers" and I
get my MMH back. Yay! I love both vehicles, but the
Prius feels like the perfect vehicle for 90% of our driving.
I was fortunate to have the MMH for this extreme winter
that's now in the rear view mirror.

We're both quickly learning the capabilities of the Prius
and soon hope to get some extra hypermiling instruction
from none other than Wayne Gerdes. There's a local
Toyota hybrid hypermiling event featuring Wayne on
May 15th. Please contact me if you're interested, and
I will post a link when my newbie status allows.

I hope to give back in PriusChat, but the high activity
is daunting. I don't know if I can keep up.

    Cheers,
    Bill

Welcome to the site. Having two vehicles with different capabilities is very nice. You'll have a blast with Wayne.

Thanks for the warm PC welcome, guys.

Mark, very nice work with your record setting tanks. Keep it up!
The 50 second warm up stage was particularly interesting and made
sense once you mentioned tactics will vary with terrain. For us,
luckily, we live on a hill top so we pretty much try to go asap
with minimal speed for the first three quarter mile and about 150'
of elevation drop. Of course, coming home is painful watching the
    MPGs drop climbing the hill.

Sam (I presume), I did enjoy watching the video, first partly on
the netbook then I put it up on the TV to view in its entirety
with the wife. It was mostly good review for me, but my wife
picked up something new from the video. Thanks!

Tom, my wife and I have both had various vehicles but consider the
Prius the best car yet. These are exciting automotive times with
the quality and engineering that goes into automobiles now. I do
    love the technology.

    Cheers,
    Bill
