Not sure if this has been asked yet, but do you think that there will be a bladder in the 2010 model? I know the bladder sometimes can be an inconvenience, especially with ambient temp changes in the winter time with reduced fuel capacity, but I think it may be cool to have the next Gen Prius w/o the bladder. But then again I know the bladder is what got the car the ultra-low emissions rating.

    Any thoughts?

I don't think that either the TCH or the HiHy have bladders, so the next gen Prius may not either. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I am wring.

I really hope it does not. That was one of the two or three things I really didn't like about my GII Prius. If I could fill my own tank I could do fine and not overfill it and spill gas all over; unfortunately Oregon is one of only two (I think) states where you can't pump your own gas. A lot of the people who work at convenience store/gas stations can't get it right despite my instructions and end up spilling gas when they fill the tank.

I wonder if the spilled gas doesn't defeat the purpose of the bladder anyway?

Yes each and every one but don't expect to get your windshield washed or your oil checked, unfortunately a lot of the attendants probably were working at McDonalds or some such place the week before. Some of the smaller convenience store stations only have one clerk who has to fill gas tanks in addition to other duties. It really doesn't work out very well for a lot of us. Some small towns, that at one time had card lock stations, now have nothing. I buy a lot of my gas across the border in Washington so I can pump it myself, it's usually cheaper there as well.
