    PriusChatters -

Sorry for this problem, I'm trying to find a fix for it. There are 2 temporary fixes:

One is to either remove the ?=highlight directive from the end of the links. Thanks to mspencer for putting it so simply:

"The problem seems to be the ?highlight= directive at the end of the URL, added by the search page.

    http://priuschat.com/forums/february-mpg-a...html?highlight=
This URL gives me a blank page.

    http://priuschat.com/forums/february-mpg-a...ges-vt6756.html
This URL gives me the page I wanted."

You can also click on this orange paper icon which will take you to the newest post that you haven't read:

And 2nd, zielin was nice enough to put together a quick FireFox fix using this extension:

    http://zielin.com/priuschat/priuschatfix.xpi

To install, download the above xpi file and then literally drag the xpi file onto your Firefox window, then follow the installation instructions.

I'm looking into the problem, but between many personal & professional issues my spare time has been limited recently.

As always, I'll keep everyone updated.

I did a search and it turns out there was a bug with versions 2.0.10 and earlier of phpBB that would allow someone to run a sql injection attack using the highlight parameter in the query string. I noticed that at the bottom of each page it says that prius chat is running version 2.0.13 (which is supposed to have included a fix for this bug). I'm guessing that when they introduced the fix for the original bug to disallow the sql injection attacks, they introduced a new bug which is causing the blank pages on priuschat. Just a guess on my part however.
Sorry all I have is speculation and not a solution. phpBB is open source. Maybe if I'm feeling particularly motivated at some point I'll dive in and look at the code. I'm pretty sure the phpBB staff will come up with a fix before I find anything though.

Danny - Just checked another forum that uses a similar presentation format and noticed a slight difference. Instead of removing the ?highlight= from end just replace the ? with an &, in another words the ending should be &highlight= instead of ?highlight=. Maybe it's a simple scripting issue!!

At first I thought is was the Mac Safari browser so I tried Firefox, still blank. Then I thought it was Just another Mac-unfriendly site problem.

    Glad to find these posts!

Still have a width problem, even with a wide screen.

    New owner, still learning

Danny, while you're at it, can you indeed minimize the width of this forum please? The horizontal bar always appears and that's quite annoying. I believe that if you put the ad banner on a new line all by itself, the horizontal bar will not show.

    Thanks for your great work.

And thanks to Craig who mentions the width issue.

forcing a width would be tough especially since most browsers wont line break things like URLs

I figured it would be a fun little project to learn how to create a firefox extension. I've been playing around with it for a little while and came up with an extension that will automatically replace the ? with an & in the url on the priuschat site to fix the problem this thread describes. For those of you who use firefox and would like to try it out I've posted it here.

    zielin -

Thank you so much for putting that extension together. I should have had this problem fixed by now, but am still looking for the free time to actually sit down at my computer for more than 3 minutes at home.

I have updated the OP with the link to the extension/fix. Thanks again!

Anything as an excuse to put off doing my taxes...
I wrote a plugin for IE too, but the installer package isn't working right. If I can figure it out I'll post that one here too.

Sweet, I got the installer package working. If you use Internet Explorer and want to give a try, I posted the installer package here. You will need to have the .NET framework installed in order for it to work. This is something you most likely already have if you do regular windows updates. I've only tested this with Windows XP so far, but I think it should work with other versions of Windows.
I also posted the source code here incase any of you are interested in how it works. It was fun figuring out how to put it together. I'm such a nerd.

Great work on the firefox plugin. I was pondering doing exactly this sort of thing myself, but I don't know anything much about Java :p.
