Since someone else asked on another thread, might as well make a topic directly related to said question.

This is going to be a 'live' topic on Bluetooth MAP Phones, more specifically, Bluetooth MAP Smartphones (Although if your phone is not a smartphone but does have Bluetooth and specifically states it supports MAP (Message Access Profile), it will be added. The plan is to make a more definitive listing of phones since lots of people are asking and not knowing.

    Phones that work:
    Phone|SMS|MMS|E-Mail|Entune Version|Notes
    Motorola Droid Bionic|Y|Y|N|1.5.17|Confirmed by Keiichi
    Motorola Droid Razr|Y|Y|N|?|
    Motorola Droid 4|Y|?|?|1.7.4?|calebu2
    HTC Evo 3D|?|?|?|1.7.4?|Believed unstable - calebu2
HTC Sensation|?|?|?|?|HTC website says it supports MAP

    Phones that do NOT work:
    Phone
iPhone - 1st gen to 4S (iOS5 does not support Bluetooth MAP)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Specs show no support for Bluetooth MAP)

Again, will update this with more information when people chime in with information.

Since I have the Droid Bionic, I looked it up and Motorola states clearly it supports Bluetooth MAP, however, it will only do SMS/MMS, not e-mail. So most people SHOULD be able to look up their phones on the manufacturer's website and it should state what kind of Bluetooth technology and what it will support. Some carriers will also provide that information as well, but right now, there is no 'definitive' Bluetooth MAP listing for phones. Also, this listing is going purely off STOCK phones, not 'Rooted' phones, where there is a possibility that rooted phones will have the Bluetooth MAP ability.

Also, Toyota has a site for people to check their phone compatibility, however, this does not give much more information other than some of the Entune stuff, not necessarily the SMS/MMS/E-mail support.

Ok.... I have yet to find a convenient way to put the listing in an easy to read format... Once I do, it will be fixed.

Keiichi there is a lot of discussion around ford sync and this topic that may have more phones listed. I started to look but got called away.

As for easy to read I don't know if linking a public google doc spreadsheet would work but it's an idea. W

Might be worth having people post their entune version because that might affect the ability of a phone to work with map.

    All on 1.7.4:
    Samsung Epic 4G: no map
HTC Evo 3D: unstable (generally doesnt work)
Motorola Droid 4: sms (havent tested mms or email)

I'll edit once ive tested mms and email

I looked on the Mysync.com site and I think it is a bit questionable to use it as a good link for our situation with the Prius v or the 3rd gen cars that might use our particular nav system. I also found a site that explains how to do tables correctly, although it took a bit of work.

My Htc Evo 3D does not work. I've tried several times. So I've always assumed my phone does not have MAP at all. I'm hoping HTC Evo 4g LTE does

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and that does have MAP support but I rarely ever get an SMS notification.

I rarely can rely on the Entune Apps to connect.

I seem to constantly get Pairing popups on my phone when trying to access the Apps to run Pandora.

I have the Advanced PiP with the 7" HDD display unit.

If you keep getting pairing notifications on the phone (with the 6 digit PIN) then there was a problem on the phone when it paired the first time. Delete the pairing from the car and the phone. Restart the phone and make sure the pairing was removed. Sometimes when this happens on Android OS the phone looks like it removes the connection but it'll still be there in the Bluetooth list after a restart. Then repair your phone.

    Good luck w/that! :D

There are a lot of possible test cases. Try picking a random phone at Toyota.com - Connect and seeing what I mean. I picked an iPhone 4S on AT&T and there are 139 test cases listed.

For Those brave enough, the Galaxy S III has MAP support, but didn't work, however the CyanogenMod versions seem to work (specifically Slim-Bean 2.5 and later on Verizon was my test bed) SMS yes, MMS not sure(no pictures, not sure what else to test), email sender and subject only body comes up null. Entune version 1.7.203.44986

The Jellybean leak for the Sprint Galaxy S3 has support for everything. Texts, email, etc. Works perfectly.

Yea, can't beat 3 unlimited everything phones for $160 a month. Not the fastest, but call quality is fine.
