Somewhere I saw a diagram that showed the different metal types used on the body surfaces of the C. I remember some surfaces were aluminum, some heavier gauges of steel than others, etc. I would like to have a copy of that for my records. Did anyone see that and keep a screen clip? I would love to have a copy if you have one. Thanks.

Over the years it was in the sales booklets. You should be able to download one from the Toyota website.

I am taking about the C. I saw it in a video I think. Can't recall which one though.

You're right. It's not in the brochure & not easy to find on the Web.

I found it on the Toyota Technical Presentation video. But all I could get is a screenclip, if I had the PDF it would be much better resolution. I'll keep looking.

As far as I can tell at this point, the roof material on the C is aluminum. That explains why it is so flexible I think. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I just tested my C with a magnet - the only body panels it didn't stick to were the front and rear bumpers and the spoiler.

I located a better one. It looks like the hood is aluminum and maybe the vertical portion of the rear hatch. I'm not sure about the roof and door panels which show white in the drawing.

See my post above. A magnet sticks to all the exterior body panels, including the hood, the hatch, the roof, and the doors. Perhaps some of the interior panels are aluminum.

Yeah, I saw your post. I am going out with a magnet right now.

Okay, all exterior surfaces attract a magnet just like ftl said.

BUT, the hood and hatch on my GEN2 do not attract a magnet so at least I know that they are aluminum.

It's hard to see exactly what's where from the diagram. The image came from the technical presentation PowerPoint/PDF, both of which are linked from this post in the main forum for the C, but the documents are hosted at Scribd and it now requires a paying login to download them. The originals might show a clearer image.
