I've considered purchasing a 2012 Camry Hybrid. Does anyone know if it has a belt driven water pump like the Gen II Prius? Is it electric like the Gen III Prius?

I was told that the Camry and Highlander still use belt driven accessories.
    Is this true?

The 2012 Camry Hybrid has an electrically driven water pump. The ICE is completely beltless. In fact, I will be trading my Gen II on one this week. It just arrived at the dealer on Friday.

Yes it does. It has 17" alloys vs. 16" steel wheels with wheelcover. The LE has no options available. It comes as-is. The XLE is the one with options. You're talking 2 mpg, similar to going with a Prius Five instead of a Four because of the larger 17" alloys. My top model Prius w/ Tech Pack probably gets 2 mpg less than the base model because of all that extra weight (possibly up to 90kg).

Picked up my Camry Hybrid XLE today. It will take a little getting use to after almost 8 years of driving a Prius.
