On the packages, it looks like the navigation is under the solar package. Can I get the basic 3 with just a sunroof? Trying to save money but only NEED a sunroof:confused:

Actually, my understanding is that you can get the Solar Roof package without getting the Navigation package. The Solar Roof package is available on Prius III and IV and is a separate add-on from the Navigation system.

My mistake Danny. I was thinking of the Prius Priority packages.

According to the 2010 options and packages post ....

Solar Roof Package: Tilt-slide moonroof with solar powered ventilation system and remote air-conditioning system, and voice-activated navigation system and backup monitor (available on Prius III and IV)

The solar roof package comes with the nav system.... is there a solar roof only option??

Definitely in Canada - Package C.

But doesn't look like it in the US based on that original posting. That makes for a pretty expensive option!

Sorry, Brianb is right. I mis-read the package options and then got it all flipped around in my head. You can get Nav without the Solar Roof, but you can't get the Solar Roof without the Nav. Sorry!

    In Canada.

Honestly, between the two countries, we have packages for 95% of PCers lol.

Unlike you, I never mis-read the package options. I just never understood them. And still don't.

Okay...so this might sound dumb and has probably been answered somewhere...but I'm gonna throw it out there...

If you get sunroof with nav (cause you have to) do you also now default to the computer screen in the center console? i think that is called the Plasmaclusterâ„¢. Newbie here. :D

All the Nav systems have the computer screen, which is called the MFD - Multi-Function-Display.

    Thanks Tom!!
Hmmm...would your set up options for hands-free, etc. be through the MFD like it is in the 09 now? That sure made it easy when the guy walked us through it.
I wasn't sure I liked the big screen there (seemed distracting) but my husband did want me to consider nav system, though he admits I am pretty darn good at directions...for a woman. :p

Yes, that's how it works. The big screen isn't very distracting once you get used to it. You can always turn it off. On the 2010s, the screen sits a little lower, so it should be even less distracting.

The screen for the 3rd generation will only display the audio and navigation screen (as well as the settings screens of course).

    Plasmacluster is the ionizer filter.
