Yep, I'm not sure how. Someone posted the procedure. Do a search for it. I'm sure you will find it.

look in your owners manuel, I remember reading about it. I think you just push a switch on the dash and it turns it off for a short time. I think the only time you want it is if you are stuck and want to be able to spin the tires to get out. My little C does great on slick roads. much better than I thought it would

    There's typically a switch however with 12 prius C there isn't. :(

It can be done. I used it last year. The procedure to start with the control off is a pain, but not difficult.

The BIG thing to remember is this...you have to be a person that can press gently on the gas pedal to slip your tires through a traction problem at the slowest possible slip rate. You absolutely can not mash the gas and power through an intersection. To do that would be the death of your transmission.

If you have an educated foot, go for it, but if you are a mash-and-pray person...forget it.

I was just wondering. I do use the low gear (B) in the snow and can feel the difference. The low gear (B) on a CVT seems to work better then the low gear (1) (2) on a typical automatic.

It's not a lower gear - it just provides more braking when you let off the gas pedal.

Thanks, I will go back there, however I looked at it before and I saw a description of how to do it on the c3-c4 that have the push button on the dash instead of the key. I will go back because I didn't check to see if there were more than one set of instructions. :)

This is one of the post in the first thread I linked: Disable Traction Control for winter situations? | Page 2 | PriusChat

I think you just turn the key to "ON" without starting the engine and follow the directions.

There are typically about 5 steps to turning off a Prius C from what I have seen in the past, and I only know that because my friend owned a Toyota, I remember my friend mentioning one time, how the steps to turn it off had to be done within 60 seconds when starting their car. The funny thing though seems to be that most people forget they do not have to go to an auto shop to do this and that they can do it on their own saving some momey if they know how and do not mind following the steps each time before they start their car.

Snowball was replying to someone who has a key. We all know some PC owners do not have a key.

and we all know that we all have an "ON" position. I'm not sure why he commented on it not having a key either...

Yes, I was replying specifically to his post which is quoted where he doesn't have the push start, but uses a key instead.
