Car hacking....why I bought a Prius"v" 2 and did not enable Bluetooth..

    Besides which, BT is only effective for about 30 ft.

    .......and unless you're letting random people on the street sync their phone to your car via BT, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

    Of course, unless you are downloading questionable apps into your phone......

    User education and awareness goes a long way.

    I suspect he did not read past the headline.

    This almost has to be via the OBDII bus. I am not aware of any (stock) car where the OBDII data is transmitted wirelessly.

    "Toyota does all that too, plus it embeds security chips in the tiny computers throughout the car, narrowing how they communicate and lessening the chance of outsider interference."

    Should you, as an owner, add a wireless ODBII transmitter, it is nice to know Toyota is trying to protect you.
