    Hello All

I am freaking out! I decided to install the EV Mode Only module from Costal. It worked fine for the first few mins. Car started and no issues. I put the dash back together. I got back in to start the car and I keep getting this error:

"there is a problem with your transmission "p" lock mechanism "

I cannot get the car to start. I tried to clean out the codes but NOTHING. I then removed the EV Mode switch. I have tried the following:

    1. fully charged the battery
    2. Power cycle the car 100 times
    3. Checked the on screen for the battery test and its shows 12V
    4. Tried to reset the check engine light but it won't go.

Its a 2007 Prius with 95K miles on it....

Before I have it towed to the dealer wanted to see if anyone had any ideas? Could I have loosened or damaged other wires? I was very careful and the EV Mode did work for the first few mins

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

12v is pretty low, is it original?

I don't know. I bought the car about 2 weeks ago.....I used a charger to charge it to 100% is that still low?

yes, if it's old/bad, it doesn't matter how much you charge it. you may have run it down while installing the coastal. get a voltmeter, and measure it with the car off, after it has been off for a few hours, so there is no surface charge.

at least 12.4, a new battery should be 13.0, be careful when charging, you have to go super low amperage, or it will toast the battery. and if you try to jump the car, don't cross the connections, or you can toast the inverter.

Check that the "P" button connector is plugged in correctly. I've gotten the same error when I've turned my Prius on with the dash apart and that unplugged. Seems to me like it may have come loose when you were putting everything back together.

No problem, always a pleasure to help keep someone from going to the dealer unnecessarily.
