    • remove the modules
    • get a smart, battery charger (see RC hobby units)
    • cycle charge/discharge and read out each module capacity (clamp sides of modules)
    • re-use the modules with closest capacity to rebuild pack

    Thanks for advice.
Can you please link an exaple of this kind of charger? Or just give some information about what requirements he should meet.

The technology changes and the first one I read about was in Europe. The characteristics:
    • automatic discharge and charge with readout or a record of Ahr
    • handle six, NiMH cells at one time (aka., a module)
    • detects charge voltage drop of NiMH cells to limit charge
    • backup, temperature rise detection charge override
Expect to spend at least $100 (US). The one I use is an MRC 989 but there are others.

Can a clamp meter be used to measure such a capacity (Ah) of the modules?

No it's D.C. You have to get an ammeter in series to measure D.C. Current.

Are you saying I could use an ammeter to actually know the current capacity of the modules if I'm charging them?

What I meant was can I use that same meter in series to measure the current capacity of the modules?
