More than likely there has been posts on these chrome wheel skins on our Prii.
Last one I recall was about 3 years ago, so here I am resurrecting this thread because I'm blown away on how you can radically change the look of your Prius for about 10 bucks a wheel.
I was afraid that putting these on would make my car look 'ghetto', since it's just an ABS plastic pop-on wheel cover.... but was I suprised on how OEM they look:

I have not seen another Prius with these on in my area.
Anyone else on these boards have them on thiers?

I rarely see them anymore but when a car equipped with them drives by it doesn't look bad. Like all wheel choices beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I never take offense if someone critisizes my style. :)

Totally understand your response on this topic.

I am VERY aware of putting tasteless aftermarket "bling" on my cars..... But this in my opinion really improved the car''s look.

They look like the factory wheels, but chromed. Hard to tell its just a pop-on, looks like a complete chrome factory wheel.

Pics don't do the effect justice

i don't like real chrome wheels anymore. billet is ok, but to me chrome is too shiny and just looks cheezy. i guess its from all the bamas that bring in their benz with really tacky looking chrome wheels. one good thing about your hubcaps, when the chrome starts to peel it won't make your tires leak like real chrome wheels always do.

Perhaps, I'm gonna give it a while to hopefully tone the shine down with daily wear, others on these boards commented that they look better less "new shiny".

Just got back from Toyota dealer today to get a spare smart key programmed, favorable replies on the wheel skins... They have never seen them before

When I first bought my 06 last year, it had the chrome hub caps on it. At first, i didn't like it and tried to get the dealer to get me original ones. The dealer put them on cause the car was leather, nav, phone, etc. It was "premium"
Then after a while, I got really used to them and liked them. I was the only prius in my area and it set me apart. I liked that.
I don't have them on now, cause I hit a curb and one went flying off. I got it back but it won't stay on. Until I can find 1 cap for cheap, I have just bare rims.

Here is a pic when I picked up my car a year ago today.

    ^ looks good.
Did you see my thread about painting. The rocker panel black for a streamline effect?

No, but stock is fine for me. Don't want to do any permanent mods like that. I'd consider black vinyl though, since it can be removed without damaging paint. (I used to letter vehicles) I've been searching and the best I can find one chrome cap is $30. Or a set of 4 on ebay for about 55.

Noting on the rocker paint, I think i'd rather paint that rear lip car color. Looking at your car, the bottom of front bumper doesn't align with sides. It looks lower, now that sides are black. Kinda makes whole car look a little higher off the ground
