Bought my prius a couple days ago used 2008 and it needed tires right then. Took it to my regular tire guy and he wants to put Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max tires on it. I liked the idea of saving money on this tire so I said ok. The ties are going on in the morning so I still have time to back out. Do I need to back out?
Those aren't bad tires, from what I've heard, and are vastly better than worn Integrities. You might feel more confident with your decision if you'd done some comparison shopping first.
as long as the tyre size is right, it should be fine. It really depends on what you're looking for in a tyre. Do you value dry grip over lifespan or mpg? What about a soft ride? Stuff like that will determine what type of tyre you want.
the guy lives in alabama, those tires should be fine id price compare the bridgestone ecopia's which are the fuel efficient equivalent of the good years. Bridgestone gives you free tire rotations as well
on that particular tire. But it wouldn't have done it probably if I had not been complaining about all the money I was putting out after buying the car. It's a 60,000mile tire.which is fine as I don't put many miles on a vehicle. Driving on them seemed to be a pleasant experience. Got out of there with paying 380.00 but I bought the tire warrenty. It was only $8.00 per tire and they put nitrogen in which was $5.00 per tire. Any thoughts on using nitrogen? Oh yea he pulled up a $25% off coupon which saved me a $100 dollars.
I put the Fuel Max on 9,000 miles ago after considerable research and really like them. They are quieter than the Integrities and have a higher sidewall psi max. Nitrogen is fine if you are getting it thrown in for free, but I wouldn't pay $5./tire for it. But if you want to that is fine, tire dealers need to eat too! PA P
That's fine then. Nitrogen? Well I see them in use in cold climates more often than in southern climates because of the extreme temps (-40 to +30°C ranges) although you should be using winter tyres anyway. I check my tyres often enough that I don't need the added expense of nitrogen. It is a convenience imo.
Based on user reports so far my next pair will be Fuel Max also. Nitrogen is harmless but useless, a complete waste of money if you pay for it.
