Considering a C

    My 2006 Prius was totaled 2 weeks ago. It was my first experience with a Prius and I'm looking for another. I wondered about the Prius C though. For those that have this car can you answer a few questions? haven't driven one yet and am just trying to figure out the different versions. This would be mainly for me to drive the 60 miles back and forth to work and then run around on the weekends. No kids, just my hubby and I and the daily commute to work would be part highway/city. (I loved my Prius.)

    Is it noisy? I read several reviews that said it is 'wind' noisy compared to the Prius.

    Does it come with cruise control? I can't seem to find that under any descriptions on cars for sale.

    I read something about a back head rest limiting vision. I didn't use the backup camera that much so not having it wouldn't really bother me.

    I really love the look of the dash and controls of the Prius but there are some good low mileage deals on used Cs. Regardless I'm going to end up driving up to 200 miles away to find one as there aren't any used ones (ok 3 total) in the 2 cities closest to me, (three = that is it. GRRR) so I need to make sure what I want before I go driving all over the state. Thank you.

    It's too bad it sounds like your location makes it difficult to get your hands on a Prius c to test and compare.

    I think you really need to get into one, drive it, feel it, and see if it's something you like and can live with.

    The biggest difference I would speculate, coming to standard Prius (Gen 3) from a Honda Fit...would be going from a small vehicle, but in the case of Gen 3 Prius, considered mid-size, to going to clearly a compact.

    I LIKE small vehicles. Sometimes even the Prius seems too large to me.

    So subjectively to me? I had more fun, driving my Honda Fit around the city, but found it more tiring and less comfortable on road trips.
    Conversely, while my Prius is a fine city vehicle, it IS larger than the compact Fit, so maybe not as easy to maneuver and park in the city environment, however if I'm taking a multiple hour drive? The Prius is far superior.

    You already know what owning and driving a Gen 2 Prius is like...
    So all you need to get a fix on, is what it's like to drive and operate a Prius c.

    Hopefully some owners of Prius c, might be able to offer direct hands on ownership observations.
    But also hopefully, you can get into one, hands on, yourself, before committing to purchase.

    we like ours, it is noisy, ours does not have cruise, and I took the rear headrests out, have been considering another, but went with a leaf instead.
