I've had a couple of these lying around that I've used in cars with crappy sound systems. Unfortunately, the Prius C applies to this rule.

I used a fused pigtail from the battery for main power. An "add a fuse" pigtail on the ACC fuse under the left hand dash for remote power, and right rear speaker lead for line level input. Note that there are two red & white pairs in the wiring loom at the passenger door. The speaker leads are the straight wires, not the twisted pair red & whites. I later discovered the twisted red & white was the smart key receiver for the hatch door. If you have a C1 or C2, you shouldn't encounter the second red & white pair.

These powered subs do a great job of filling that low bass without blowing the stock door speakers.

Nice place for the sub. Is that the sound ordinance? Did you fasten the sub down in any way?

Yes, it is the SO. Not fastened down, just sitting on some rubber matting so it doesn't rattle. I cut the styrofoam about 1" larger, so it won't squeak, but won't move around. As a side note, you will need to stuff some foam rubber at the rear shock towers, as the plastic buzzed with the additional bass. Sounds great and can't be seen...

That's a pretty good location. I have the same looking one under the passenger seat. Fits just right. Real tight.

Sounds good. Doesn't bother the passenger since it hardly vibrates much. It's a small sub/amp so it isn't going to rattle your windshield type of deal.

How would you describe the sound? If a car already has upgraded speakers and amp, would this make a noticeable difference? Is the bass boomy? Basically is this designed to put punch into a factory system or does it have clean tight sound? Thanks for your input and help.

The sound ordinance amp/sub I had definitely does not compare to a stand alone box with a 8/10/12 subwoofer. However, it does deliver a good enough punch that it is noticeable over the speakers.

Basically it isn't going to rattle your rear view mirror but it will give you that extra umph if you want it.

Nice, I just got a 2013 C4, but lacking low end pretty badly, was thinking a powered sub would be the way to go, something small, IF it can be hooked up without messing up what I perceive as "delicate" electronics that control the rest of the car.

Looks like a great little boost to the bottom end! I like it!
