Curse of the prius

Some of you may remember my previous bad experience with a dealership while trying to purchase a 2009 prius and how I was kept on the line for for 4 months (Oct. 08) for a production that wasnt' even due till March 09', sad to say that the curse continues!

I was supposed to have picked up my 2010 prius tomorrow or friday from the dealership (not the same as the 2009) since it's been sitting in the toronto warehouse since monday(as have all canadian cars till the official release), but was having problems getting insurance setup (since it's my first car under my own ownership it's a new policy) since the VIN wasn't registered yet, so they were requesting a hard copy of the VIN from a order form, the dealer e-mailed me the a copy of the order form last night and I just happened to be looking through it, and curious since we didn't know which color leather we were going to get I decoded the suffix.

That's when the dreading began, I had ordered a blue ribbon metalic in tech pakage (Canadian equiv. to V) but the order confirmation says CL which is a premium with solar instead of DL which is Tech.

I called the dealership this morning and to my dreaded disbelief they confirmed that it was indeed the wrong car!!!! somehow between the order being placed from the dealership and toyota canada and toyota of japan the sufix was reassigned from DL to CL, dealer presented records stating their order placed and confirmed was for a DL and yet the CL was given on the delivery confirmation, and yet no one at the dealership spotted the mistake dispite delievery being anyday now.

So no car for me yet though they supposedly are able to get one from a allocation that just landed in vancouver, which is 2 weeks minimum but up to a month away till delivery

So my curse of the prius continues, perhaps I'll actually get the car in July now, or maybe the train carrying it will derail and it will get crushed .

Don't worry, my 2010 dreams are being pretty well crushed by the greedy SOB's who work for GST. I'll probably have to drive 5 or more hours to buy a Prius at MSRP.

Calm down..... The car you want will arrive one of these days.

Back in the 60's we had a cure for problems like this - drugs.

Thanks, Just rather annoyed that no one caught this at the dealership in the month since the order was produced.

Supposed to have been DM since I really wanted the light grey leather, but seems I'll have to settle for DL the dark grey.

Hehe Well I've waited 8 months 2 more weeks won't kill me, though I've desperately needed a car for the last 3 months now.

Now I'm a bit worried because I don't have any "DL" in the VIN number that I got from my dealer and I ordered a Black with Tech. Package.

In the sequence I have a "DK" and a "DU" but no "DL" ?

Any how, my car is supposed to be on the van that will arrive this morning at my dealer. I hope I will receive the good one !

60's? You mean the 1960s? The math tells me I should, but I don't remember the 60's.
