I've always bought one of these for my cars in the past. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've bought a first gen brand new car so I'm not sure if they even make these for the Prius v yet. The shades I'm looking for are those silver ones that fit perfectly. The usually run somewhere between $30 - $40. Has anyone seen availability of these yet?

The company that makes the Heatshields for us in the PriusChat Shop says they should have the pattern ready for production next week. I'll update you when we have them up in the Shop.

Ah yes, Heatshield, that's the brand I usually buy. Thanks for the heads up and I'll wait for your notice when they're in stock

We bought Heat shields shade for our 2009. When we bought our new 2012 Prius v5, we found the 2009 head shield fit nicely. So we did not have to buy a new one.

According to CanvasWorks, the Heatshield is the same for the Prius v as it is for the Prius. I have added them to the Prius v category in the Shop:

Does this mean the Gen3 Prius and the Prius v both use the same exact front windshield?

The model #s are the same, so I guess so. I'm still trying to clarify with them to make sure they know I'm talking about the Prius v, not the Prius V (Five). Thanks again to Toyota for this wonderful model name confusion.

    Hey Danny,

I've registered my AmEx card and am all set to order a sunshade this Saturday.

With the "ShopSmall" credit, the PCShop sunshade will end up costing me only $7!

BTW: I used the Heatshield sunshade from my 2009 Gen II in our new vee and it fit the vee's windshield very well.

    Danny

I noticed that the Heatshield Sunshade for the GIII Prius is $2 more than the one for the GII Prius.

Is the GIII Prius sunshade larger? If so, I'll order the GII sunshade for the vee. It fit very well - I wouldn't want one that was any larger.
