It is my understanding that the anti-UV coating on the windshield makes a dash cover unnecessary.

Well, we ordered, and like, our 'Dash Designs' dashcover. A lot of real estate there and the shade of blue goes very nicely with our Blizz! Less glare and seems to even quiet it down a bit; maybe that's just a false perception on our part but in any event, we like it.

I bought the Nissan Cube's dash cover today (thanks for the thread) - before buying my Prius - this was the front runner (wife said NOOOOOOO!!!!).This is my ode to that funky car.......

I purchased one from autoanything.com. They have them for the 2010 Prius. I bought one for $40 and it is custom cut and requires just a little streching and smoothing with your hands to fit really well.

With my 2007 and my 2010 I had the same problem with the large dash being a very dark gray it becomes very hot with the sun shining on it. This dash cover that I bought is a light gray and does not absorb or reflect the heat as much. They sell several different colors.

Would you guys that have purchased and installed these covers please post pictures?!? From the websites I can't even envision what it would look like in the Prius.

    Thanks!

I will give it a go. The cover I ordered is gray and lighter than the dash color. I wanted something to reduce the amount of heat that is reflected from the dash.

Some one else ordered one and said they trimmed some off under the display to make it easier to see. I am 6'2" and sit high enough so that nothing needed to be trimmed.

Glad I took the (third one) picture of the small hole at the top of the dash. Small wrinkle:), that I now have smoothed out.

They seem to be covering up the speakers... Has it affected the sound quality?

We have not noticed ANY degradation of the sound quality with the dash mat.

if you want to protect your dash from the sun, just get a heatshield sunshade. I agree with drspielman, they look,,,,BLAHH!! not to knock on the people who actually had it installed. Also, of course the sound quality is jeopardized. If you cover up a speaker, you'll lose some level of quality and clarity.

Just ordered the Charcoal Dash Designs Carpet Dashboard Cover (34.99 free shipping) from AutoAnything. I'll let you know how it goes and take some pictures.

I have the darker gray interior and the dash top seems to pick up every scratch and spec of dust, it's driving me nuts... hopefully this will alleviate some of that.
