Just got back from the recall for steering and inverter coolant pump and found out that the dealer washed the engine bay. There are so many electrical connections under the hood that could be corroded by the water. :( Toyota even put weather striping on the hood to keep water out. (y) Now the dealer sprayed water in there! (n):(

Well let's make a check list to inspect for water:
    1. spark plug wells
    2. fuse box
    3. generator resolver connector (Thank you Ed!)
    4. halogen headlamps' bulb connector (Thank you Britprius!)
    5. ... (your input here: what are the known problem areas of corroded electric connection under the hood?)
    6. ...
    Thanks in advance!

By the way my anemic 12V battery was deemed 100% healthy. Right.

I do mine several times a year, wouldn't be worried.

All the connectors under my hood have been sprayed with CSP. Corrosion Stop Protectant. Waterproof.

But still don't wash the engine bay. Its not a show car.

Known corroded connector issue is the resolver connector on the side of the trans. Rot that one out and its new transmission.

You do realise that connector is located on the side of the transaxle facing the front of the car. It gets blasted with road spray every time you drive in the rain. After cleaning the engine bay just go for a short drive, freeway even better, and it will dry quickly. No harm done. All exterior connectors are weather proof, rubber seals around the wires where they enter the connector housing and a rubber seal inside the connector where it connects to its mate.

If you have halogen headlamps the bulb connector is a known trouble spot and is not protected by anything.
