Disable Backup Beeper...Now Faint Horn Honk

    Newbie to PC so please forgive me if this is a duplicate post. I disabled the backup beeper in my 07. Now I have an ever so slight horn chirp that I hear. There is no consistency to the chirp, but it is a bit bothersome. Anyone else experience this (or is it just in my head)?

    "horn chirp" when backing up? Could it be the brake grabbing?

    Does not appear to have anything to do with actual backing. I get the sound when stopped or driving forward as well. Only change to car was the disable of backing alarm.

    Does the sound occur when you apply the brake? Did it go unnoticed before b/c you were distracted by the reverse beeping?

    A possible "chirping" sound (unrelated to the reverse beep) is the brake actuator noise.

    sound will still occur when stopped, driving in reverse, driving forward.

    Is your foot on the brake at the time?

    Besides the other thread, there's My Brakes are Barking at Me | PriusChat. Mine sometimes bark and I've driven another Gen 2 Prius that makes the same noise. I think I also heard it from usbseawolf2000's Gen 2.
