i googled some finding that water pump of the 3rd gen prius is not a usual water pump. it's an electronic water pump using power from battery and enable belt-free operation of the prius.

my guesstimate is this part must be more expensive than general water pump in other cars (same as higher price of the air compressor).

so i want to know in advance for any possible part that requires high budget to fix in 3rd gen prius model.

According to alldatadiy, the engine water pump costs $303.91 and the labor is 1.7 hours.

I don't think I've read of one failing on the Gen III's yet. There is also a water pump for the inverter but I wasn't able to find any information on its cost as an individual part.
