    Hi All,

I just purchased a new PIP Advanced in Pearl White. I'm currently living in an condo complex that does not have a charging station so I am only driving the car in HV mode and leaving the traction battery depleted. Is this bad for the traction battery in the long run?

    Dear new Prius owner:

Fear not, the battery will never be depleted. The system will ensure that it maintains a safe charge on the main traction battery at all times.

This may or may not apply to you, but I use a standard outlet in the garage to charge my PIP.

Depleted = no plug-supplied electricity remaining.

That's means there is as much as 23.5% of the battery's total capacity still available.

HV mode operates between that 23.5% and roughly 18%. So, even without ever plugging in, the pack will be just fine.
