I had a grandmother that would drive her car with both feet on the pedals; one on the brake, and one on the gas. She would go through a set of brake pads in less than a year because of this horrid driving practice.

My question is, how does the Prius respond when slight pressure is applied to the brakes, but the accelerator is being operated? I don't think regen and electric motor assist can occur at the same time, but I could be mistaken.

i think because of some idiots who claimed they were pushing the brake through the floor and the car wouldn't stop, as of a certain date, if you step on the brake, it deactivates the throttle.

Yea, I see some idiot doing that evey morning on the way to work (at 5 AM) and I just want to follow them and beat the to a pulp with a lead pipe. Not only bad on their brakes, but brake lights are constantly on, so can't tell if they're slamming on the brakes in front of you!

Well, I never drive the Prius w/ left foot braking, but truth is sometimes in some cars I left foot brake. Usually when in bit of hurry or in miles of logjam and just tired of moving right foot back and forth forth to scoot half car length. The 3 hour, 90 mile trip back from Monterey to Fremont comes to mind. Nice place though n check out the aquarium.

Unless you are racing where left foot braking is required, stay off of it.
