I'm wanting to do a retrofit with a set of Morimoto Mini h1's into stock 2008 halogen headlights. The only problem is that I can't have any downtime on this car due to it being my wife's daily driver. I was planning to paint them etc, so I need a little time to do them. I was looking at getting a spare set and wanted to know what you all thought of the eBay sets that go for like $118. I've been looking fora stock set, but everyone of them aren't in very good condition. I would post a link to the eBay ones, but I don't have enough posts.
Would it matter what set I got since I'm doing a retrofit anyway? :) Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If ur plan is to just use them while u work on the retro, I would go with the slightly beat up 1's if they will cost less. Why spend another $120 on top of the cost of all the retro parts.

Well, everything locally is beat to hell, (broken stuff) and they want like $75 and up still.... I figure if I can get a set for $118 shipped, that would be a better deal to me. Plus I'd do all the work of removing and installing a set of headlights twice. At least I could resell the stock headlights for a decent amount instead of buying a set of crappy ones and being stuck with them. Ya know? Anyone know if the eBay ones are of any quality for a retro?

Yeah, it's a gen 2. Maybe I'll make a set of the Mini h1's and then go for the FX-R's on the spare set.... hmmm

I had a set for my gen2.....can't remember if they were eagle eyes or depo. They looked just like OEM but they lacked the cutoff that the OEM headlights have.

It's a gen 2 with the halogen housings. No way would I be trusting eBay projectors for lighting.

Yeah, here are some pics of them and what I've done so far. This is a pic of the factory lights for reference.

Testing out the fit of the projectors and kind of taken apart.
Test fitting the halo and shroud fitment.
And it's time for some paint. First the outer pieces.
Painting the edges of the reflector housings for a better flow.
Throwing some black on the Apollo 2 flat shrouds. I'll be putting some pink accents on these once the paint has cured.
    Somewhat reassembled. Looks much better!
Added some pink LEDs for demon eye action!!

I just finished modding the Mini H1's and just need to lay down some more paint and trim the shrouds to fit. I'll post up more pics here shortly.
