You can be my cameraman but no squealing if I go too fast!

I had turned the stereo down so I could listen for tire noise but I wasn't going fast enough for that and so people didn't have to listen to reggaeton. lol

    I love the pedestrians
the lady with the dog where he hops the kerb to get past a garbage truck, the guy in the white suit that makes some sort of gesture due to the inconvenience, and the person with the red carry bag that scoots across the road knowing whats coming..

More likely it'll be the tires squealing, not me. :)

You're going to need new seats soon - something with more lateral support. ;)

Do you come down to the SF Bay area at all? I'd love to sample your setup.

Not usually. I am living in Woodland right now and do make trips to Fairfield. Are you going to attend Green Drive Expo in Richmond this year? I'll be there and happy to let you check it out. :)

Check out the handling, or the stereo? I doubt the organisers would be happy with testing either within the building. ;)

I would love for someone with lowering springs living in NYC to comment on the ride quality or lack thereof.....I know USBSEALWOLF had coilovers and had to remove them because they were too harsh (as is ANY coilover in NYC).

I also wish they'd make tokico illuminas or the Koni sport kit for our cars..KYB GR2s are just junk IMHO

On very bumpy or potholed roads the ride is kind of harsh. I'm going to put the 15s back on today and will comment on how the ride has changed or hasn't changed. On smooth roads the ride is smooth as silk. :)

The GR2s work as well as stock which is fine with me. The car corners extremely well and I wouldn't want a strut that was stiffer. I played with adjustable shocks and struts (Koni and custom QA1s) enough when I was younger. Something adjustable would be nice though.

I have KYB GR2s now. They have been great so far. Not as soft as the stock yet still comfortable.

see thats my problem because finding a street in NY that is NOT filled with potholes is impossible.....which is why I stuck with OEM wheels on all of my cars (tired of replacing rim after rim after rim)

Are NY roads that bad? CA roads are terrible, but I get by just fine.

I always thought the Prius had a soft, lofty ride to begin with, so it could afford the bumpiness from coils, and definetly springs. If you ever choose coils, slam it all the way to the ground. No point otherwise. :)

of course everyone's opinions are subjective but I'll paint a picture for you....imagine a 2000 Lexus GS400 with 235/45/17's bending rims left and right...I bent 2 sets of OEM sport rims on this car...I almost bent the 16's that I stepped down to before I sold her (with an oversized 235/50/16 tire to boot!

as for coils...there's no point in NOT slamming the car...the ride stays the same at the highest or lowest settings, might as well get ur money's worth.....and coils are just impractical here in NY

City streets w/ potholes is not even that bad. Freeway, however, is a big difference. I popped my sidewall hitting a pothole on the freeway. On the street you have a better ability to maneuver around it and lower speed, less bumpy, less noise, impact, everything. With a lowered car, I dont think potholes will be a problem or uncomfortable. It's probably just psychological. Hearing your front bumper scrape any time you pull out of/into steep driveways is a different story, because its painful to hear and actually hurts the car.

I have a feeling with 15" wheels the ride won't be harsh on the potholes but I could be wrong. I'll post up tomorrow if my back isn't broke and my kidneys are in place. lol
