Engine failures: German cars poor; Honda, Toyota on top

    "The most reliable engines came from Honda, with a failure rate of just 1 in 344, with Toyota in second (1 in 171) ." The best American brand is Ford, and the worst is Vauxhall (Chevrolet). I have a Beetle TDI so now I'm concerned it might have a troublesome future.

    It's been true for so long, I've given up even thinking about the German Feel when looking at cars. When I went looking at the VW dealer, I was reminded why I hardly ever visit a VW dealer. I've had dealings with some for years, and it's almost always the same thing.
