I recently changed out my 2006 blown gas engine with a great running 2008 engine and also replaced the hybrid battery. After connecting everything, my car won't start. All the lights come on except for the ready light. Does something have to be reset?

It's most likely the hv battery interlock plug. The orange plug has to be pushed downward so it'll lock in place.

The procedure is to pivot the lever 90 degrees. Then slide the lever down to lock in place.

If that doesn't help, then get Mini VCI so you can read the logged DTC to obtain a clue about what is wrong.

Did you test the 12v? New doesn't mean much

99% of the time, the proper procedure for the lever is not followed, as patrick describes, and can beseem on utube.

Retried it again and it started! I took it to the Toyota dealer because of all the warning lights on. My OBDII computer shows no error codes. Toyota's computer shows that it needs a new brake actuator. How do I replace the brake actuator?

    1. It is time for you to obtain Mini VCI so you can retrieve the DTC logged by your car.
    2. If in fact the brake actuator needs to be replaced, Mini VCI will be needed for that job.
    3. You can obtain the brake actuator repair procedure at techinfo.toyota.com which is a subscription website that allows you to obtain factory repair manual info.

I am curious also about what happened to the original engine and battery. Also, how much did you pay for the engine and battery? Have you had any problems over the past 9 months?
