Ok,, DUMB Newb question here, for sure!o_O

What IS that strange triple circle they call the Toyota logo, suppose to be? I mean,, H is for Honda, H is for Hyundai, Ford is Ford, Bow tie, or Chevy, is Chevrolet, Mazda is M, on and on. But someone please explain how Toyota is something like a tire, with a halo on it, inside another circle??:)

Um...I've always looked at the 3 circle/oval thing that you described as forming a "T" = Toyota, and I'm sure a lot of people look at it as a "T" for toyota, so no idea what your mix-up with the emblem is

Hic, hic, hickup!:ROFLMAO: I'll have another one of thoose,, please!

Cool global emblem site- link though. Zoom, woosh,, but still, tire with a halo....

I believe the logo on the back of the car has been designed to represent and reflect the logo on the steering wheel.

    From there:

The two perpendicular ovals inside the larger oval represent the heart of the customer and the heart of the company.
    ....
The outer oval symbolizes the world embracing Toyota.
    .....
The space in the background within the logo exhibits the "infinite values" which Toyota conveys to its customers: superb quality, value beyond expectation, joy of driving, innovation, and integrity in safety, the environment and social responsibility.

Oh dear. I think I'm going throw up.

IT'S A BIG ROUND PRETTY LETTER T, TOYOTA! STOP MAKING UP ALL THIS NONSENSE. AND FIND THE MARKETING COMMITTEE THAT WROTE THIS, LOCK THEM UP, AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!

Now were all rolling on the floor with a good belly laugh!!! NOW we really know what they were thinking when they made that emblem.... NOT!!!:)

hkmb thank you. I did not see that description on the video of the emblem. I wonder how much they paid the guy that came up with that logo, and wonderful "simply poetic lines"? ;) :giggle:

MJFrog It took me a while, but I DID see the Toyota in there! Nice job! No idea how you could manipulate it like that! Nice work!

Maybe we should come up with a New logo for our Toyota??? Any idea's? (Besides the one above)...

    Lots.

I was watching a very old episode of QI the other day, and they referred to this old case from 2003:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/west_yorkshire/2935427.stm

Education bosses overseeing a university merger have defended paying consultants thousands of pounds to create a new name.
The University of Bradford and Bradford College are joining together to create an institution with up to 50,000 students.
But after more than three months and £20,000 the study produced three alternative names - Bradford University, University of Bradford and The University of Bradford.

    That's more than US$ 30,000.

The emblem is so well known that they don't need to spell out Toyota on their cars anymore. I would call that a successful design.

My NAVY rating symbol (ET) is:

Due to its similarity with the unfortunate Toyota logo, I've given both the same name:

    Crossed A$$holes.

Put "wings" on that 'electron' and you have my NAVY rating symbol (AT).

That'd make Toyota an aircraft manufacturer too?!?

AT.... "ET" with a light duty chit.
    AQ...."GM" with a high ASVAB score. :)

That would be Mitsubishi or Kawasaki. ;)
