    Extending Armrest
Does anyone know of a product that would fit into the cup holder to extend the arm rest. I find that I am constantly resting my elbow in the center of my cup holder or on the very corner of the existing center arm rest.
If not current product, any ideas of how to modify the center console to extend the arm rest.

    New Cup Holder Placement
Also I am planning on mounting a 1 or 2 cup holder on the passenger side of the center console (adjacent to the AC control to minimize the impact on the passenger). I just don't like where the 2 current cup holders are. They are right in the way, not sure why they designed the car like this..

<PS.. Please don't respond to this with unuseful comments about resale or other >

welcome to priuschat! agreed, it's a poor design. hopefully some of your links will provide a decent solution, and let's hope gen IV is more thoughtfully laid out. all the best!(y)

Maybe it's because I sit with the driver's seat pushed well back, but my forearm rests comfortably on the center rest and my elbow is nowhere near the cup holder. I even find myself unconsciously slipping my hand down inside to fiddle with the rubber cushion at the bottom. Looks like it works for some but not for all.

i was looking at it today. i think you could find a plastic cup that fit in there upside down and make a foam and leather cover to rest your arm on. a bit of work, but maybe worth the time and trouble.

I have my 2014 PiP for less than a week and driven it 4 times. All I can said is, "I miss my '06 Prius center console". I don't know what Toyota was thinking or how they test this out. I am 5'8" and I find that I can only rest about 4 inches on the console. If I have a drink in the holder, I can't even rest my arm on it. Reaching for the drink is awkward at best even if it was the front holder. Also, the console is so high that I feel trap if I don't rest my arm on the console. The center console is the single biggest complain I have about the 2014 PiP. The second is the spare tire. If I didn't need the passenger seat for my wife, I would put one of those traveling desk on that seat.

Anyone have a good solution and still have a place for drinks?

    Thanks.

If it helps my idea was to cut a piece of PVC pipe and glue a mouse pad to the top. But it wouldve been a little crude for an almost $40k car.
