While driving my 2005 on a trip up to San Francisco, my wife said she "heard something flapping" and looked into the mirror to see the exterior trim fall off.

It looks like the double sided tape was no longer sticky, and the plastic piece that actually clips in on the top broke. Some initial internet searching has left me without any OEM style options, the only one I can find are high gloss aftermarket ones that wouldn't match. What would you all recommend to find a replacement? I've called around, and surprisingly, I haven't found any Prii in Los Angeles county junkyards.

For some reason that site shows the same part number for the 2005 gen2 Prius as belonging to an Avalon lol.

The part for the 2007 should be identical.

Have you considered just putting the part back on with new DS tape? The right stuff to use is Scotch VHB. Good surface prep includes getting rid of any old tape residue, dirt and oil. I'd recommend a final wipe down with isopropal with a paper towel. Apply firm pressure for about an hour at a temp above 20°C and you should be all set.

If my reading comprehension is right, the part is gone in the wind (lost) and it's not available to reattach.

It would appear that your comprehension is intact, while mine has started my vacation nearly a week ahead of the rest of me. Sigh.
