Not all people in the world are as nice as Prius people.

So what does all the trojan stuff do? I mean, they go through all this effort to devise a rather ingenious way to get people to download multiple files but what is the result?

    Windows trojan, perhaps?

    Go Linux.

Or any other Unix clone: BSD, Mac OS.

To drive a Prius is to "think different" way of life :)

The result is they then control the victims' computer. They can see all of his personal information and passwords. They might be able to take over his bank accounts, cancel his utilities, send spam email in his name. It gives the malicious attacker a zombie computer, and potentially allows him to steal the victim's on-line identity entirely.

But there's nowhere in the article that states this. I know what most people do with trojans, but is this just an information grabber or a Distributed Denial of Service attack being set up? Considering the ease with which most account thieves can buy accurate information online for relatively cheap, it seems like a pretty intricate setup - requiring physical interaction with a person's property - just to grab a few credit card numbers.

Makes me so mad they will do nothing yet they have a URL someone paid for, and a trail right to someones computer. If it was kid porn they'd find them same day I bet. Write your congressmen please to include malware and trojans as terrorism with the same penalty as arson which is a similar crime. Let geeks get a reward for finding them if they need manpower to do it, this is a problem we could so easily solve.

    1)
Any decent virus program will stop crap downloads, regardless of the O.S.

    2)
Stats show the average Prius / hybrid owner has a higher degree of education.

    3) Because of 2), it's unlikely anyone receiving the fake ticket would fall for some hoaky "ya gotta go onlie" atypical ticket format.

But why would anyone be so gullible as to even pay attention to that phony ticket?

If it has some government name on it, call them. If not, just don't litter.

I think they tried this with Hummers first, but it didn't work because first you have to be able to know how to read to be able to read the ticket.

I am sorry, there is no need to lower yourself to the behavior of the trolls. This comment is not appropriate.

I'm cool with it. Troll like is going to a Hummer forum and saying that, but on a Prius forum I can't see an issue.

So in an essence being a troll is a OK if it goes along the lines of the site content? I am amazed.

    Trollish post?

Would you consider it trollish if I state that Hummer drivers receive almost five times the number of traffic tickets as other drivers? Or would the truth be too trollish?
