I know when the FEH was first introduced, I looked for, and never really found super pictures of the vehicle's interior - especially those of the nav package where you get the necessary hybrid and fuel economy screens. So now that I own one, I took the type of pictures that I was looking for, to be able to share with others who may also want to know.

Time to get started - outside shots first.

You know, the Escape is not a bad lookin car. I'd like to see more shots of the interior.

Can we get some shots of the consumption and energy screens (or whatever the equivalent is on the FEH) when the car is on?

Fuel economy screen. This will be it for a bit. I still have to go back outside and take some pictures of the engine compartment, and hybrid battery, and a few more interior shots.

Cool! Hey... what does the "phone" button next to the AM/FM button do on that center console there?

Does the energy and consumption screen behave pretty much like the Prius one?

The phone button mutes the radio. It's supposed to be for some hands free system that was not offered as an option on the Escape. My guess is that it's functionality is realized in the Mercury Mariner. It's still useful to me though when I pull into the parking garage at work, and the XM drops out to static.

    OK, back to more pictures

Car seems nice and roomy :).

The battery looks quite a bit bigger than the Prius one. Do you have a spare tire somewhere?

Wolfie does it have real HVAC controls like the Classic or like the new Prius on the touch screen?
Also does it have a real day/night rearview mirror?
Analog gauges? what's with that? I'd have guessed it would have been digital, interesting.
Do you find it distracting to have the MFD that low? or is the picture just not letting me get a good idea of where it is.
    Keep'em coming.

Frank, It has the standard HVAC dials, and is not an "atuomtaic" system. You set all settings manually. I'll miss the digital dash somewhat, but don't mind the analog guages at all. I'm actually glad that they are back behind the steering wheel. One thing I'm REALLY glad to have is that tachometer. It's nice to know exactly what the engine is doing, and there's no doubt when the engine is on or off. It's kinda neat watching the tach drop of below the zero to the "EV" symbol when the car goes into stealth. IF you don't get the nav system package, all you have to tell you what the system is doing is the charge/assist guage, which is the left most guage in picture 3, as well as the aforementioned "EV" spot on the tach. The little screen in the tach will also give MPG, distance to empty, and some other functions that I haven't read up on in the manual yet on how to access.

The MFD really isn't all that low. It is however, smaller and not a touch screen. The feathers on my dream catcher do more to obstruct the screen though, than any design differences. The rear view mirror has a simple flip lever for the night function.

Laughing man, it has a doughnut tire located under the car.
