    Uh.... the previous Prius model on the European test cycle said it accomplished 72 mpg. So wonder what it really is in an EPA test cycle. Probably similar to the Jetta TDI.

    For comparison of the EU test cycle with the EPA test cycle, the previous Prius managed 66 mpg imperial (or 55 mpg in US gallons) on the EU combined cycle.

    The current Prius is measured at 72 mpg (imperial) or 60 mpg (US gallons) in the same EU combined cycle.

    So then in the U.S., the BMW gets less than 49MPG, and Prius still gets better MPG than the BMW ?
