I went to fill up my car with gas this morning like i always do at 3 pips....towards the end of my fill up the gas tank made a sigh very loudly and starting pouring about a 1/2 cup maybe more of gas out the tank then it clicked to let me know the tank had filled. I do not top off my tank always stop when it clicks...has this ever happen to anyone else. Should i be worried or just ignore unless keep on happening?

If you are using the SLOWEST fill speed, it will probably never happen again. Over the past 7.5 years of filling my Prius, I've only seen it once.

Pump nozzles do need replacement eventually. They wear out. You were probably just the "lucky" customer that ended up revealing it was time for that particular one.

Just take it slow on the pump. I usually stop pumping after the 1st click...sometimes on the 2nd click. :D

I think you Prius should be fine. Drive safe.

I have had this happen twice to me, both times at a newer pump and pumping at the slowest speed available.

I think this may happen if you don't get a good seal between the nozzle and fill pipe. I pay extra attention to this now and haven't had a reoccurance in a long time.
