Gas left in tank after warning

    Ran the gas down to the flashing warning light and drove another 5 miles, with 20 miles listed as gas left in tank. Filled with 9.76 gallons, which means you will have about 2 plus gallons left according to 11.9 gallon tank.

    Sounds like the gas gauge is pessimistic, or tank isn't really 11.9 gallons. Maybe you could have pumped more in?

    My first effort at running the tank dry indicated there was 2.1 gallons usable after the flash began. The 11.9 gallons is pretty accurate based upon what I filled up on top of the 1 gallon spare can and fuel burn to reach the gas station.
