Gas tank filling issue & check engine light on

    My 2010 prius began having gas tank filling issues a week or two ago. When filling, it clicks off every few seconds. Pulling the nozzle out further doesn't help. Now, today, my check engine light is on. Anyone else with these same 2 issues?

    My Prius 2010 also have this issue with the tank except for the engine light.. when i fill up it clicks, even if the tank is nearly empty, so instead of holding the Gasoline pump Nuzzle (vertical) relative to the ground, i turn the Nuzzle 90 degrees to the right upwards. When i do it dosen't click i don't know why but it works.

    Do you fill at the same filling station and at the same pump?
    If so try a different pump or filling station, this might help.

    If you think your English is bad, meine Duestch aber nicht so gut. We're zussamen on this.

    I like the sideways idea, lately we've been talking about using the pump nozzle totally inverted (upside down) to get a better fill up. But I am reluctant to try that.

    can't say that i recall another gen III having this problem. try reading the gen II threads and see if any of those techniques work.
