My 2001 Prius needs a new main battery and inverter, it cost too much and too little of a warranty. Any suggestions on what to do with it. It is in great shape otherwise.

if u can, get two gen 2 batteries and rebuild the gen 1 pack, itll cost you less than 1000.

are you sure the inverter is bad?

Agreeing that diagnosing multiple failures is tricky in Prius. Make sure the 12 volt battery is right first, because a problem there can trigger DTCs in error. If problems persist, ideal would be to swap in a known-good HV battery and then re-diagnose.

The largest parts listing seems to be

    www.car-part.com

where at present, both used inverters (search: Power Inverter (Hybrid) ) and HV batteries are about $450 and up.
