I'm disappointed that — despite Toyota's claims to the contrary — this problem apparently continues in 2011 models.

Did you have to complain about the rattles and buzzes for them to do the work, or did they just offer it out of the blue?

Not so--this has been discussed/dismissed several times. The ecological plastics are used in very few areas, and not the dash.

From Prius release doc (see image attached below):
    Ecological plastics
    1. World-first, plant-derived resin “Ecological Plastic†with
    excellent recycling characteristics
    a. Front/rear inner/outer scuffs
    b. Cowl side trim
    c. Luggage space rear finish plate
    d. Driver’s seat cushion

Complained at prior oil change & got .......we can't duplicate.

This time wedged large piece of cardboard in glove box door.

Asked if they knew a better way to fix.

They did know a better way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could also be Toyota factory fixes roll very slowly downhill and
    just arrived in North Carolina.

Same problem here with my 2010 base Prius but had read of similar experiences on Prius Chat so went to dealer - they were great - asked for dash insulation and glove box replacement - no hassles - scheduled the work, did the work - done. Unfortunately, still same rattle noise - and yes, worse in winter. I've resolved to live with it. It had this issue right from day 1. I'm at 48,000km/9 mo. now. Other noise source was the metal clips on seat belts hitting pillar (vibrating while driving) - simple fix is to slide them up to top and cinch in place.

hi, i have the same problem, the dashboard speaker on the drivers side makes a static (crackling) noise after about 15-20 miles of driving.. the dealer cannot isolate the fault, has your fault returned? or has tightening the door jam bolts done the trick?
