Just drive slower. I stuck to 60mph on the freeway and 50-55mph on the back roads. That seemed to do it. I refilled and now I think I'm in the 52-53mpg area. I forgot to check once I got home. My commute to work was 46.6mpg and my commute home was 61.?mpg. This time I kept it in Power Mode and drove 65mph most of the way and didn't do any rural road driving. On second thought, you are in the LA area so don't drive too slow. I don't want another dead homie. :D

Ditto so far for me. Indicated on the MFD is at 57.6 right now, with about 180 miles on the current tank. My first tank was sub-50 because I had the car in the tint shop (don't know if they had the car on or not) and then drove around for a week with the windows up while the tint dried. Lots of A/C use. And the occasional use of Power mode just to show off :D). So far I am really happy with the 17's (running the MXM4's at 46/44):)

    Damn! You go man!

I was really worried for you but the car looks great and you're getting excellent fuel economy. You can't beat that.

Keep in mind these are indicated numbers not calculated so you can drop them by about 5%-6%. :)

Hopefully tomorrow. Going in to get the springs installed (and the rear spoiler replaced) in the morning and then will try to install the caliper covers and Valenti's afterwards. It all depends on when I get the car back from the dealership for the first two items.:)

Couldn't have gotten here without you. Your advice has been spot-on and I hope to be able to return the favor someday soon. :)

Here are pics of the Momo Win 2's and Michelin MXM4's after the install of the PP TRD lowering springs and MGP caliper covers installed. I am pretty happy with the results. :)

The bottom pic shows what +38 off-set looks like. The tires are pretty flush with the wheel wells, more so in the front than the rear.

Around $105 each. Discount Tire is the exclusive US distributor for these Momo Win 2 wheels, which is where I purchased them. I am not sure if you can find them elsewhere.

I'm trying to decide between something like yours or SoCalB's wheels. Are those Weds even sold anywhere? The US version of the Weds Sports web site is not available right now. I like that yours are lighter than the Drag DR-34 and you seem to get better MPG with your setup.

I'm waiting for someone to put 86/BRZ/FRS wheels on the Prius..... surely there'd be heaps of people offloading their standard wheels by now.

They have them online at DiscountTireDirect.com
It's their online version of their store and they ship for free. They also have tires and TPMS. Buy everything together and they will mount and balance for free before shipping for free. The price listed on this website is a little more than their walk-in store but still cheaper if you consider the no sales tax, free shipping and free mounting/balancing. I got a set of Momo Winter Pro S in 17" and new TPMS but cheaped out with Hankook Ventus HRII H405 tires. So far, only notice about 2MPG hit from my OE 15" Yokohama tires without significant change in driving habits or routes.

Hey Smelly- I'm assuming you're running the wheels/tires on your profile picture. If so, what are they? Looking real good.

Oh, I don't run those TRD wheels *dreaming* but I only run these Toyota Caldina wheels. Sorry to disappoint.

It's just too impractical for me to do anything "radical" to the car anyway given it is my family car.
