Guys newbie here and I have a quick question...I really like the 18" for my 12 Prius IV but dont want to lose a lot of MPG so I might get the 17" so at least I wont lose that much of MPG compare to the 18s...NOW I found an 18" wheels and its way lighter than the factory 17s and most of the 17s out there so do you guys think its better to have a lighter 18s than a heavy 17s?

Light weight bigger rims help as do the LRR ( Low Rolling Resistance) tires. When they are combined , your mpg loss is less.

I would estimate it would cost you an extra $10/mo to run a good LRR 17" setup. More for 18s as the hit may be slightly higher and tire choices are fewer and they cost more/wear out faster. Look at what your average mpg is now and reduce it by 3-4mpg or more. The consider tire replacement cost at $90/ea vs. $160/ea. with tire wear being maxed at about 55,000 for 17s and 18s and 90,000 for 15s. Do all the math to come up with a cost per mile analysis then figure out what makes you happier between saving money and straight flossin'. ;)

I don't have them on my Priuys but I do on my 2009 Corolla S. I love the look & think they would look nice on a Prius too. I'm running 17x8 +35mm offset on my Corolla. :)
