My dealer is a member of the Toyota Board of Governers group and 20-year winner of the President's Award for Dealership Excellence.

He and the few other BOG members just returned from a Toyota-hosted trip to Japan to view and provide input on the latest pre-production prototypes, including the Prius.

He liked it a lot, and described the new technologies and design features that will redefine hybrid capabilities once again.

Otherwise, I'm sworn to secrecy including release date, but bought more Toyota stock yesterday.

The next five years will solidify Toyota's reputation as the industry's premier innovator in concepts, design, manufacturing, materials, distribution and quality for all segments of the worldwide marketplace.

OK. You're sworn to secrecy. How about your camera or your pencil? Can they talk for you? C'mon . . . give!

At least let us know: Are you talking about 2009, 2010, later?

    sweet...

aww.. so nothing at all? not even telling us if it's a hatchback or not?

It hurts not to blab, but Toyota has really stepped up their Internet board monitoring for leaks like this. It would take them about 10 seconds to figure out who the dealer is and I gave the dealer my word. Besides, I'd prolly lose my fleet buyer status, too!

Some good stuff in the pipeline, and it isn't oil.

So, this is just a GLOAT? :( No news?

Don't you feel just awful holding it in? Maybe put it in small print?

    Come on, you'll feel better!:D

I was actually at the meeting and viewing in Japan the OP is discussing, but I too am sworn to secrecy. I cannot say a thing.

Needless to say, it's agreed that the next gen will be worth waiting and we won't be disappointed right?

As an Aussie Toyota rep would say,

    Bugga!!
  8. TonyPSchaefer
I was not at the meeting and therefore am not sworn to secrecy.

The Prius will have five times the battery capacity and only half the tank size. Mileage will quadruple and there will be five new colors including camouflage, bright pink pearl, and flat black. Tinted windows will become standard because, as one Toyota rep stated, "it just looks super cool." The addition of the wind turbine protruding from the roof was originally seen as awkward until it was revealed that the amount of energy generated by the spinning of the blades is enough to keep the battery mostly charged at even neighborhood speeds. With the use of a new bio-memory carbon-fiber technology, the car will repair itself in the event of major accidents reducing or even eliminating repair costs. If dinged in a parking lot, the car will automatically phone the police and render the offender incapacitated via a device known as the "Happy Happy Electrode Wonderful Taser Incapacitation Device."

    You heard it here first!

In case anyone feels like, I don't know, dropping hints, feel free to anonymously email Danny at priuschat.com :)

Well, at least tell us when the information will be released to the public.

Cool. What was your reaction during the "embarrassing incident" with the prototype?
  13. a priori
    Tony, Tony, Tony!

If you're going to blab, get the facts straight. Given the effect on the intruder's control of bladder and bowels, and the fact that the event is likely to make the same intruder drowsy as well, the actual name of the device is the "Nappy Nappy Electrode Wonderful Taser Incapacitation Device."
  14. Sonny Jim
No "embarrassing incident" actually occurred; that is the red herring we are using to out those who claim to be at the meeting, when they in fact were not.

    Nice try, though :)

What's the point of a post like this? If you can't or won't provide any new info, why bring it up? You might as well talk about your last ufo sighting that you have also sworn to secrecy about. . .shhhsh!

Maybe its the na na na na na factor...I know something that you don't!
  16. zenMachine
So, does the Gen III have height-adjustable seats or not??!!??
  17. omgitsroy326
my dad works for toyota in japan... he also commented on the prius... very nice
