Looking for a count. On how many levels is this latest ad campaign simply just wrong. I'll start.

    1) Bragging that you are doing more for the environment than letting the dog lick you clean rather than use water.

    LOL!!! I love that one!

Did Ron Paul's campaign rip off the Chevy revolution's revolution?
  3. Kablooie
Yep, I'll tell you. That's the car for me!

Who could pass up a car that is being sold with the image of a small dog licking a bare foot! Genius!!

And according to the head of GM it will only be twice as expensive as a Prius! What a wonderful bargain!!

    Wow!

Me. This actually makes me want to vomit.

    2) Placing a hard-to-read fine print battery disclaimer when the battery & body haven't even been worked out for the final concept.

    3) "Gas friendly to gas free" ?? Have they picked a date when the gas friendly part's going to start?
  6. Rae Vynn
    That's truly disturbing. Ewwww.

And, um, wow... 40 miles on a charge, huh? how far does a Zapp go?

Has ANY car company EVER hyped a concept car this much??????

"Vehicle features and performance capabilities subject to change without notice."

How can something which does not yet exist have features and performance capabilities????? And why do they feel the need to warn us that they *cough* MAY *cough* change?

The only thing not subject to change is the hype itself.

    Hi All,

Well, what do I get from that commercial ? I get that the people who funded it liked it, because its making their poor lives hard. They actually have to get out and take a risk. And they see it as a rediculous exercise, rather than the neccassary requirement for the ongoing eficacy of modern society that it is. Just like having the dog clean your feet is a rediculous exercise.

I have posted it many times already, and here it is again.

The Chevy Volt is a marketing campaign only. Marketing GM, not the car!

    4) The end flashes all the many ways GM's help save fuel, by pasting little badges ... it shows a fuel cel and ethonol symbol . . . and that saves fuel by what stretch of the imagination? I wish they'd stop with the ads, and just try and BUILD it already. If they'd have funded as much money into ads with the EV1 ... as quick as all THOSE leases got snapped up, folks would have REALLY freaked when they took 'em off to the crusher.

With all the greenwashing I see floating around, I can't help but to compare it to the amount of Prius advertisements I see on television, in the newspapers, and online.

Which is to say that it's nonexistent. On the other hand, for the last long time, GM has had a multi-page, full-color "special advertisement section" every week in the Sunday Chicago Tribune.

    Hey. Dogs can sell anything.

    Even a vaporcar.

I looked on Chevy's web page, and the only way to get EPA numbers on a Tahoe is to download a pdf file:

    http://www.chevrolet.com/m/06/quickfacts/08Chevy_Tahoe.pdf

So they won't even tell you how "gas friendly" a Tahoe is without you having to jump through a hoop.

I love the way GM plays fast and loose with facts and semantics. Having a con man in a TV ad brainwashing small children about how green they are is disgusting and immoral.

This can't possibly be a real Chevrolet commercial. I HAVE to think, that this is some kind of user joke.....

    Please....

Have you seen the new Malibu commercial? What a hoot. It zooms around flying through the air and the commercial says "More than the Honda Accord" or something like that.

I thought it was ridiculous. Someone got paid for that? Geesh. Hire me and I'll make you a better commercial than that. And I don't even believe in your product.

Specifications: Tahoe: SUVs: Chevrolet It's on this page with no PDF if you're looking for it 21/22 for 2wd.

GM plays fast and loose with facts and semantics? It is less moral than Toyota playing the green card? The hybrid buses GM makes save far more gasoline than all the Priuses together, or I guess it isn't really about saving energy, it is about being smug.

And if cities were allowed to buy quality buses instead of being forced by protectionist interests to buy GM, they would be allowed to save even more!
