I'll never be able to give up burgers and sushi. Just can't do it - life would be seriously less enjoyable.

Um, I'm a vegan, and I eat sushi.

"Sushi" is actually the Japanese word for "Vinegar rice", which is what they wrap around various fillings and tuck into Nori. The first time I had sushi, it was made for me by a lovely Korean woman, who filled it with pineapple! oh, yummy!!
Lots of veggies make great sushi filling. We enjoy making it, and eating it, and there are usually lots of veggie sushi available at better Sushi restaurants.

Yep, Rae Vynn would make for fine dining.

As a scuba diver, I always buy a batch of veggie sushi for after-dive snacks, no worries about refrigeration.

All the vegans and raw foodists I know, make for excellent dining, as they enjoy their meals way more, take more time to eat and relax.

I just knocked off an egg and cheese sandwich and it made me wonder where eggs stand in the vegan world.

    They really don't.
Do you know where your eggs came from? Unless you have your own flock of hens, happily running around your backyard/acreage eating bugs and scratching in the dirt, they probably came from a facility that keeps 6 hens crammed in a cage that measures about 12" x 12", They never see daylight, never can stretch their wings out fully, cannot stand up straight, and stand on wire their entire lives - when they slow down production, they are put through a forced molt, which is a stress on them, and many die.
The air inside the facilities is heavy with ammonia fumes, which not only is breathed constantly by the hens, but also by the workers, who often suffer from respiratory problems.

    Being vegan means no eggs.

A newly wed man came home from work, and his bride had made him dinner. He looked at his plate and saw some unusual meat,

    He asked. "What's that?"
    His wife answered. "Tongue"
He replied. "Make me something else, I won't eat anything that came out of an animal's mouth."
His Wife asked. "What would you like to have for dinner?"
He replied. "Just make me an omelet."

"...such as healthy grammar Nazis..." would be the better choice of words.

"Like" indicates a comparison and "such as" indicates inclusion.:D

And here is the visual difference between those two. Store bought eggs on the left, my sister's backyard hens on the right. Note the clean separation on the whites of the latter.

Oooh but the store ones are bigger! Or is that because they're pumped full of **** to make them so?

Parents always had hens and despite backyard eggs coming in all shapes and sizes, they always always taste much nicer. If you have access to them I would say you should try some - next time you pass a farm shop or similar. Have always been worth the money in my book and often they're about the same as a supermarket.

"Quite right. But you can have two veggie humans for every meat human."

And with that you have twice the heat output compared to an individual; that's not effective in reducing AGW

When one goes vegetarian, should you finish off the meat in your refrigerator?

If you're going vegetarian in order to make more efficient use of the world's resources, yes!

We handed ours off to our kids and other relatives who weren't interested in going veggie.

It totally depends on your reasons for going veggie. If it's economic/environmental, then use it up. If it's ethical/health reasons, then no. But then, no one will need to tell you that, either.

A new DVD explains things, "Forks Over Knives" as to why, for human health purposes, meat is a garnish atop vegetables and not a main course.

Why I like Thai food. Most meat is just a cheap protein substitute.
