    Hi,
I just picked one up at my local toyota dealer for 23.00, which I figure was a good deal. I would like to know what you guys used to clean the paint before you stick this bad boy on? I have acetone but think that might be too strong, maybe rubbing alcohol.
    Thanks,
    boppo

I just wiped it down with a wet cloth before sticking it on.

I suggest that you carefully read the instructions; I ruined the first one that I tried to put on, so then I had to use another (and these cost more than $23 each, at the time.)

I put mine on shortly after I got the car, so all was new/clean. I just used some warm water and a towel. I would suggest to clean the car well (by hand...not a machine car wash) and dry off and apply.

Clean the rear bumper with soap and water. Rinse. Dry with a clean, relatively lint free towel. Then clean the area with rubbing alcohol and allow to air dry well before application.

Anyone try using claybar to get all the impurities out of the paint first?

Alcohol. You should always clean with alcohol before applying double sided tape to any surface to remove waxes.

patsparks, so if I use a little on the bumper and a little for me I should be able to get it on right. :)

I jsut claybarred the rear bumper area where it was going to be applied. Clay bar removes impurities as well as stripping any wax on the area. Then just applied it. It's been on for 16,000 miles so far. I'm starting to get a bulge across the middle of it so I may remove and reapply 3 strips of double sided tape to replace the original 2 and add one more down the center.
