The Bay Area? sigh ... 900 miles round trip ... 12.86 gallons hyper-mile'ing ... I'm going to have to find someone to ride share ... or take the metrolink. Sure would LOVE to do the entire round trip drive in one of those new Prius PHEV's that the WHOLE world seems to get to test ... except for me.
    :eek:hwell:

    EDIT:
Got the following error, when I put the discount code in; "not valid"

It's a long walk from the last Metrolink station to Richmond.:D

    Hill,
As far as ridesharing, there is a guy coming up from LA in his Tesla.... but I think his passenger seat is already spoken for. Dang!

The Craneway Pavilion is reachable by Amtrak and a nice 10 minute bus ride. I personally rode the bus so I know it's clean and quick. Buses go between the Amtrak station and the facility every 1/2 hour.

There'll be enough PriusChat folks around that may be able to pick you up if you arrive on Friday. Keep us updated on your plans via this thread. It'd be great to see you there.

<Error that Hill received has been corrected.>

It's a long drive for us, as well. Hmm...

However, a chance to see so many of my PC friends again? I just might commit to this :)

    What Rae Vynn said: Hmmm.....

Been to the last 3 in Madison. It's a 1500 mile round trip for me, and I don't own a hybrid either. Always great to see familiar faces and meet new people with common interests.

Now I'm thinking about taking the train, or flying, or driving.

Hyo, how are you getting there?
  10. F8L
I'll be there. :) Linda owes me a hug....

It's still just a thought. The train would be awesome, but carpooling would be far cheaper. I don't mind sharing the driving.
  12. Rae Vynn
Well, don't forget the other costs of driving - food, lodging, time.

At least on the train we can sleep on the way to/from. DH will likely not be able to go, so that makes us only two drivers.

I'll check the Amtrak schedule... hmm, I can fly cheaper, on Virgin America.

    Maybe driving would be better.

Sitting upright in coach for 30 hours is not really my idea of a good time. The neat thing about berths is that you get your own little room, with meals included, but of course it's more expensive. As for driving, I wonder what Octavia's up to that weekend.....:)

And this time, you will not be sitting by yourself eating room service at 2am. ;)

If you fly, BART has a station at the SF airport and one in Richmond.

What about our supreme and benevolent leader ? Will Danny and his better half be there? If one makes a pilgrimage, it seems only fitting.
    ;)

Darell owes you one too :p. . . . it'd only be a few hundred miles round trip for his RAV4-ev.

  18. Rae Vynn
I'm hoping to see the entire west coast contingent...

Did you guys happen to notice Darell's name on the speaker list?
