I just got this email... Cool! I like Toyota.

    Dear Toyota Owner,

Thank you for your recent purchase of a new 2012 Toyota. We hope you are enjoying all of the great features and functions in your new vehicle, especially Toyota's revolutionary new multimedia system– Entune®!

We are very pleased to announce that in the coming weeks, you will be receiving an upgrade for your Entune system. This upgrade will be delivered at no cost to you and will provide three new applications for your Entune equipped vehicle: iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com™ and OpenTable®. In addition, the upgrade will add voice recognition capability for all of your Entune apps, making the use of Entune easier than ever!

This Entune upgrade will be delivered to you via US Mail on a USB memory stick (flash drive.) In case you are not familiar with these devices, a USB memory stick is a computer memory device that will be preloaded with the Entune software. You will need to follow the simple instructions that will be included with the package to complete the upgrade and the entire process should take around five minutes.

The USB memory stick will be arriving in your mailbox in the next few weeks. It will be in an envelope that is clearly labeled "Your Entune Update is Enclosed". Please be on the lookout for it and be careful not to discard it as junk mail.

The Entune upgrade will also be delivered to your smartphone app. You may see the new applications on your smartphone before you receive the USB memory stick in the mail. Please be aware that the new apps will not work until you have installed the upgrade from the memory stick into your vehicle's multimedia system using your Toyota's USB port.

Thank you again for your purchase and we hope you enjoy the new capabilities of your upgraded Entune system.

    Sincerely,

    Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc.

I also got an email, but my update will be downlaoded via airways. see following:

We are very pleased to announce that your vehicle will soon be receiving an upgrade for your Entune system. This upgrade will enable voice recognition for Pandora®, iHeartRadio, OpenTable® and MovieTickets.com™ apps. This upgrade will be delivered to your vehicle "over the air", so all you will need to do is click "OK" on your navigation/audio screen when your vehicle prompts you to accept the Entune upgrade. This upgrade is being provided at no cost to you and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. (Your vehicle needs to be running, so please do this in a well-ventilated space).

Please be on the lookout for this upgrade to arrive in your vehicle on or around June 28, 2012. Thank you again for your purchase, and we hope you enjoy the new capabilities of your upgraded Entune system.

My e-mail said I will get an over the air update for my PiP. I have the ATP. I assume that is what allows the update to be sent OTA.

Ok so for those of you with ATP, what exactly is being updated for you guys? You guys already have movietickets.com, iheartradio, and open table. Non ATP users are the only ones who lack those apps right now. So I thought this update didnt pertain to ATP users at all. Now Im confused

I have a 2012 v (13,500 miles, 44.1 MPG, and madly in love with it); I got the email about USB update. I don't care about the Entune app update, as I my Android has way more/better Apps and is easier use for phone dialing, connected via BlueTooth. However, I was wondering if Toyota would be updating anything else, such as fixing bugs in the Nav system, sync'ing my phone contacts correctly (a big PITA, actually), or improving the general voice recognition capability (generally pretty bad over 40 MPH). I would really like to be able to voice search the web for a location, then navigate to it, like Google Nav. "Find Next" has very limited success and the search results are often unusable due to text truncation. Toyota voice address search does a terrible job in urban areas, requiring you to select by zip code, but truncating the address. I find myself using Google Nav far more often because it is so much easier.

I'm another ATP Prius v (wagon) owner that got the email about Entune update over the airways. I tried to get the update last night and this morning but no updated showed up. I did find out that when I have the Entune apps up on the 7 inch screen, I can press the upper left corner and get the Entune software version number to pop up. So I have Entune version 1.0.122648 currently and I'm looking forward to any updates.

Howard Nunes; I would be surprised if Toyota would sneak any Nav updates in this Entune software update. But I did use the bing app of Entune to find a doctors office that I could not find in the Nav database. I did not have the exact spelling but when I used the voice input bing search it found it. I then transferred the saved destination and navigated to the office no problem. So navtune/bing has voice search on the web for locations. Look for the microphone icon to activate voice input.

Just got mine over the air today. I have the v 5 with atp. Would have gotten it sooner if I had entune already loaded on my phone and running. All up and running today but couldn't tell you what it did because I haven't been using any of the apps. What do people like best about entune. I've heard a lot of dislikes but would like to hear some postive things, if any. Thx, Ben

How are you folks' experience with the new update so far? On my HyCam + iPhone 4, Entune seem to reconnect just fine without a phone reboot. I find myself actually using Pandora now :)

I picked up my Prius v 5 (no ATP) a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything from Toyota about the USB upgrade yet. The dealer told me it should be coming sometime in the near future. Any ideas?

Also, my iPhone downloaded the upgraded Entunes App tonight. Is this the same thing??

    Thanks!

We bought our v5 (no ATP) November 2011 with a promise of Spring 2012, then another promise of Summer 2012. July 19, 2012 still no thumbdrive. On the otherhand, mail person should deliver mail around 1:30p this afternoon. Wait and see.
