This is my first post. I presently drive a 1996 Toyota Camry (bought in 98 after it came off of a 2 year lease with 23,000 miles) and a 2003 S10 pickup that I bought new. I test drove a Prius in 2001, but the dealer wouldn't give me ½ of KBB's value on the Camry, so I didn't buy. I rented a Prius on my last trip out of town (January, 2008) and loved it.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and I hope I can learn more about the car I intend to own next.

Welcome the the forum. If you decide to buy a Prius, I recommend a 2006 or later. The newer models have several significant improvements.

Thanks to both of you for the welcome.

I intend to buy either a 2009 or 2010 depending on what advancements the 2010 has and whether or not there will be tax credits on both or only one of the model years.

I am hoping that the 2010 will have some of the benefits and features of the kits that extend the range of pure electric driving. If it does, the price differential versus the benefits will be my deciding factor.;)
