This is just a guess, but if the car didn't originally come with fog lights, there will be no power source available.

    1) There's already a lengthy thread on installing OEM fog lights into the existing sockets, and the amount of effort it takes

    2) The ebay dude's feedback isn't exactly stelar ... it's in the 98% range ... so approximately 1 out of 50 customers feed short sheeted.

    3) OEM 'style' lights are NOT OEM lights, and that's why they don't have a part # to go along with them ... along with the less than stellar feedback.

    Good luck

Get ready for some reading: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...s-install-retrofit-fog-lights-2010-prius.html

You should search for "fog lights" for more links, but this one is the most extensive. What you have is the "Yaris" kit others purchased (including me), plus the fog light mounts for the front bumper.

I wouldn't blame the seller or the product. Sounds like the buyer doesn't know how to install them at all.

I've gone through that thread, and will get these some day - but it is LONG (as many get - mud flaps - a prime example for a simple thing). I wish someone just had one nice spot to get at the part numbers, switches (Toyota and non), instructions.... It's like going through the Oil change at 10K thread . I just did mine at 5K (FYI)

I've asked the moderators to create a separate area for condensed articles on issues/upgrades like fog lights, but they're ignoring me. So it goes. I agree that one has to dig thru this site for some specific details.

I read the whole thing, and you will understand better by knowing what kind of problems they had to face with at the beginning of the installations. Plus there was more than one way to install it. I wouldn't mind reading that 40+ pages if I only had to pay around $250 or cheaper compared to $800 to get my fog lights install by the dealership

    Hi jwarrenjg,
I don't want to come off sounding like a jerk or anything as it is not my intention but the eBay ad specifically says "Installation instruction are NOT included" so why would you give them bad feedback. As to the seller being able to give you installation instructions via email I would highly doubt that as most eBay resellers are just that merchandise resellers.

There is probably more of a chance of him being a computer nerd then an auto guy so as long as the product he shipped was as described, not broken, sent timely, etc. I would think he should get positive feedback from an eBay reseller perspective.

Again, not wanting to come off the wrong way I'd just hate for the seller to get negative feedback if he completed the sell correctly.

Good luck with your install and I hope it all works out well for you.
    Thanks,
    Bill
